Did you actually watch him play or are you just box-score watching? Hurts looked good for a rookie and I wouldn't put that Washington loss on him since the Eagles were actively trying to lose that game and benched Hurts for Sudfeld in order to secure a higher draft pick. Hurts led a furious comeback effort versus the Cardinals and had the Eagles rolling early against the Cowboys, but the defense was completely inept and he had little help around him. I am not saying he is the next Russel Wilson, but given the circumstances Hurts gave the team energy and helped keep the competitive in games. It's a shame because the Eagles roster is so bad that they will not do well next year, but if Hurts can even bring this team to 6 wins I would be very impressed.

No Jacoby Brissett or Tyrod Taylor better options.

@Brand New There's no doubt Wentz had a very bad year, a lot of that was his responsibility. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong with all the injuries Wentz got through 2019 with backup receivers. 4000 passing yards 27 tds 7 ints. This year was too much for him. I don't think very many quarterbacks would have succeeded in Philadelphia this year. If the eagles didn't have so many salary cap problems the eagles could have tried to also get Hopkins or Diggs this year. The Desean combination didn't work out as planned. It would have been fun to see. I would like to see Hurts given a real chance this year without looking over his shoulder if he struggles early. I could be a tough few years coming. Roseman saying that Philadelphia is a quarterback factory was a stupid thing to say. GOOD LUCK AND TAKE CARE

@Derrick Brossard Well yes Wentz did those things, but the huge difference between he and Hurts is that Wentz was in his 5th season as a starter. He had more than 50 professional starts when he started this season. Wentz has a sub .500 record in three of his 5 seasons. 35-32-1 isn’t cutting it for a $128M QB. Hurts did some of those things too, but has hasn’t even had 10 NFL starts. All rookies have a learning curve. Wentz threw 14 interceptions as a rookie, and I didn’t hear anyone wanting to move off of him. He was given all the time in the world to grow and mature into the job. I’m just saying we need to give Hurts at least a full season to see what he does and if he trends in the right direction. It’s not like Hurts is some late round round pick we just picked up to see if he can make the team. He’s a second round pick. You don’t draft a guy that high and not think he is capable of something very good. Again I get the second half of games were a problem. But if we’re honest, overall he payed better than Wentz, who has a 5 year starter. He was creating more offense on his own than Carson could. I agree with you about Howie. I honestly think that his role n the Super Bowl was not as big as people think. That was a magical run we had. Everything went right. Outside of that year I’m not impressed. I don’t think he is great at assessing talent. He did get Miles Sanders right, but after that he’s dodgy. The Metcalf and Jefferson debacles should have him fired for sure.

Dak was ny far the best qb in that division 2 years ago... GDallas just had terrible sutuational playcalling and the defense was very inconsistent.

@Kaylon Jenkins Whatever he did at Oklahoma, throw that out the window. That does not always translate to the NFL. He did uplift the Eagles offense but as someone who watched those games, it was his threat to run that changed their offense and in the 2nd half of every game the opposing teams would adjust and his 2nd half throwing wouldn’t be good. He did show solid anticipation, but he doesn’t have the strongest arm and he could definitely work on his accuracy. It’s potential there but he didn’t show me anything to where I feel like he’s definitely their guy going forward and the team doesn’t feel that way either because they plan on bringing in competition for him. If they can work with him and help him improve then great but if they keep going forward with practice squad WRs and makeshift OLines, that brother won’t even stand a chance. Also, I’ve actually seen more white media members loving Hurts and black media members being more skeptical 💀. If the Eagles take a Bills approach, Hurts could potentially turn into that guy. If the Eagles take a Jets approach, Hurts will be on the trade block in a couple years.
